Letter from R. S. Ricketts to Brigadier General Daniel Ruggles, October 4, 1864
Physical Appearance: October 4, 1864 - R. S. Ricketts at H[ea]d Q[uarte]rs Signal Corps, District of the Homochitto, to [Brigadier] Gen[eral] Dan[ie]l Ruggles, Com[man]d[in]g &c. &.c, Macon, G[eorgi]a - Informs the general of his son, Lieut[enant] E. S. Ruggles' capture by the crew of the U. S. gunboat "Chillicothe" near Fort Adams on October 2. Inquires on arrangements to send the lieutenant's horse to the general. Notes that the enemy sent the lieutenant's clothes under flag of truce. Signed, "R. S. Ricketts" Operator in Charge, Signal Corps, Dist[rict] of the Homochitto [River]. 1 page.
