Letter from John S. Mosby to Dr. Aristides Monteiro, January 28, 1896
Physical Appearance: Autographed letter signed from John S. Mosby to Dr. Aristides Monteiro, dated January 28, 1896 in San Francisco. Written on "Southern Pacific Company: Law Department" letterhead. Mosby writes to Dr. Monteiro that he received the Times of 22nd on his article on the Monroe Doctrine, which he complains was butchered. He sent Joe Bryan a response to Longstreet's criticism of Stuart. Mosby has also seen a "jesuitical attack" on Stuart by Col. Charles Marshall by Colonel Charles Marshall and calls it "all a lie . . . It looks like a I shall be at war forever." (See "Letters of J. S. Mosby," p. 79.) 1 pp. Marks: "No. 42."
