|Archival History||Benjamin Franklin Stringfellow was born on June 18, 1840 in Virginia. He enlisted in Co. E, 4th Virginia Cavalry as a Pvt. on May 28, 1861. Stringfellow was detailed as a scout for much of the war. He was captured as POW at Middleburg on June 12, 1863. He served as a Scout for Stuart in January 1864. He then served as a Lt. and Signal Officer on December 20, 1864.|
