b) September 16, 1861 - Head Quarters Division, Camp, Jackson, Ark[ansas] - Special Orders, No. 123} - Directs Lieutenant M. M. Kimmel, C. S. A. to go to Fayetteville, Ark[ansas] and "receipt to" Col[onel] T. C. Hindman for all ordnance and stores turned over by the State of Arkansas to the Confederate States. e) September 23, 1862 - Letter from Frank C[rawford] Armstrong at H[ea]d Q[uarte]rs Cavalry Brigade, Baldwin, Miss[issippi], to General S[amuel] Cooper, Adj[utan]t & Insp[ecto]r Gen[era]l, C[onfederate] S[tates] Army, Richmond, V[irgini]a - Submits his resignation as Colonel of 3rd Louisiana Infantry and states his reasons. "Signed" Frank C. Armstrong, Act[ing] Brig[adier] General. "Reverse" contains endorsements from Major General Sterling Price, Major General Earl Van Dorn, Jasper S. Whiting (AIGO), and J. A. f) September 23, 1862 - Letter from Frank C[rawford] Armstrong, at H[ea]d Q[uarte]rs Cavalry Brigade, A[rmy of the] W[est], Baldwin, Miss[issippi], to Hon[orable] Sec[retary] of War [George Wythe Randolph] - Requests to be relieved from duty with the army as Acting Brigadier General and be allowed to raise Cavalry Squadron for service in western Arkansas, Kansas, Indian Territory, or Missouri.
