Physical Appearance: December 7, 1863 - Henry A[lexander] Wise near Charleston, S[outh] C[arolina], to Rev[erend] Geo[rge] Woodbridge, Richmond, V[irgini]a - States that he has written a letter of endorsement for Woodbridge's son to Gen[era]l [Jeremy] Gilmer. Discusses enemy bombardments against Charleston and thinks there will be a land attack soon, inadequate numbers of troops for his and Beauregard's commands. Speaks highly of Beauregard. Notes that his own troops are in "fine" health. Signed, "Henry A. Wise"
