Physical Appearance: The letter is from T. A. Huguenin to Jones, dated February 18, 1884. Huguenin, a former staff officer to Maj. Gen. McLaws, writes from Charleston, South Carolina at Jones' request. Huguenin tells of conditions at Fort Sumter during the fall of 1864 and disagrees with Beauregard's statement that the fort could not have held out.
