Physical Appearance: December 24, 1861 - Thomas Jonathan Jackson at Headquarters, Valley District, Winchester, Virginia, to Major Thomas G. Rhett, Assistant Adjutant General, Head Quarters Department of Northern Virginia - Acknowledges the Secretary of War's desire to have Brigadier General William W. Loring continue as commander of Army of the North West. Withdraws his own plans contrary to this desire. Signed, "T. J. Jackson" Maj[or] Gen[era]l Com[man]d[in]g. 1 page.
