Steuart, June 1863: a) June 11,1863 - H[ea]d Q[uarte]rs Johnson's Division - Orders for Steuart to place one company on picket duty tonight on the road to Winchester [Virginia]. [By direction of Major General Edward Johnson]. Signed "B. W. Leigh" A[cting] A[ssistant] A[djutant] Gen[eral]. 1 page, written in pencil. Marks: "L - 51 - Metal Case 3" written at the top. A CMLS seal is embossed in the center. b) June 12, 1863, 6:50 A. M. - H[ea]d Q[uarte]rs Johnson's Division - Sends orders from the commanding Major General [Edward Johnson] to have a regiment placed in rear of an artillery reserve being placed with the division today. Signed "B. W. Leigh" A[cting] A[ssistant] A[djutant] Gen[eral]. 1 page, written in pencil. Marks: "L-51 Metal Case 3" A CMLS seal is embossed in the center. c) June 17, 1863 - H[ea]d Q[uarte]rs Johnson's Division - Sends orders from the commanding Major General to place pickets to the right and rear of Steuart's encampment, placing them "at commanding points a mile or thereabouts from his camp." Signed "B. W. Leigh" A[cting] A[ssistant] A[djutant] Gen[eral]. 1 page, written in pencil. Marks: "L-51 - Metal Case 3" at top of page. A CMLS seal is embossed in the center.
