Letter from John S. Mosby to Dr. Aristides Monteiro, July 8, 1892
Physical Appearance: In this autographed letter signed, dated July 8, 1892 in Mexico City, from John S. Mosby to Dr. Aristides Monteiro on a letterhead from Hotel del Jardin, 1st Independencia Street, No. 5. Mosby writes Dr. Monteiro that he sent money while in China to Valentine for a copy of his bust - two years ago Mosby saw Babcock and had been told it was packed in a box. "Last April, I wrote him to send it by freight to my son. He has never replied." His son never received the Valentine bust and asks Monteiro to investigate why, "fears something happened to poor Babcock was in bad health." Signed: "John S. Mosby, 145 Ellis St. San Francisco, Cal." 2 pp. Marks: "No. 13' crossed out to be "No. 15."
