Physical Appearance: The telegram (autographed note signed) is from Lee to Gen. P. G. T. Beauregard, dated June 16, 1864. Lee suggests to Beauregard a reason for the Union transports moving on the James River. Lee also asks Beauregard if Grant has been seen crossing the river.
