Physical Appearance: In this autographed letter signed, dated June 28, 1879, in Hong Kong frmo John S. Mosby to Dr. Aristides Monteiro. Mosby is serving with a U. S. commission; letterhead notes "United States Consulate." Mosby describes a triumphant visit by General Ulysses Grant, seeing "some of Northern china, Peking, and the Wall." Mentions Grant will return in September. Predicts that Grant will be the next U. S. president. Mosby also enquires about the state of Virginia politics. (See "Letters of J. S.
