Physical Appearance: In Special Order No. 113, dated April 23, 1863, Lee requests a board consisting of Colonels J. Thompson Brown, E. Porter Alexander, R. Lindsay Walker, Lt. Col. Thomas H. Carter, and Maj. R. Hardaway. Lee orders this board to examine, compare, and offer its opinion on enemy ordnance versus Confederate twenty-pound Parrott guns. He also requests the board to consider the value of the "Boermann" fuse as compared to the "Worden" fuse. This order is signed by Lee.
