Physical Appearance: Miscellaneous letters, orders, and telegram belonging to Brigadier General Alexander Robert Lawton:
c) February 1, 1862 - Jno. [John] Perkins at Richmond, [Virginia], to "My dear General" [Alexander Robert Lawton], Savannah, [Georgia] - Sends a letter complimentary of the "fourth battalion of Louisiana troops at present under your command. Notes the two previous occasions that he and Lawton had met. Describes the make-up of this battalion, "composed of the sons of my neighbors and constituents in North Louisiana." Offers his services in Congress to assist Lawton any way he can. Signed, "Jno. Perkins."
