Letter/Copy: Dr. Rufus B. Weaver to Mrs. Ada L. Egerton, April 25, 1889
Letter from Dr. Rufus B. Weaver to Mrs. Ada L. Egerton, April 25, 1889 on the subject of unpaid debt of $12,000 owed him for work recovering and removing Confederate dead from Gettysburg. Weaver states that he exhumed and sent to Richmond 2935 remains. He observes that much money is raised for erecting new monuments, with little effort made to raise money toward debt associated with removing Confederate bodies from northern soil.
