Letter from John S. Mosby to Dr. Aristides Monteiro, June 4, 1894
Physical Appearance: Autographed letter signed by John S. Mosby to Dr. Aristides Monteiro, dated June 4, 1894 (year is later written in pencil) from San Francisco, CA. Mosby writes Dr. Monteiro that his "Reminiscences," now out in book form, were originally written for the "Boston Herald." He asks for the second time if Monteiro gave Mosby's Gettysburg article to Lewis Ginter, and he corrects Monteiro's published accounts of Mosby's youthful indiscretions of getting fined, then arrested for shooting in the year 1851 and then 1853. (See "Letters of J. S. Mosby," pp. 67-68.) 3 pp. Marks: "No.25" crossed out to read "No. 26."
