The black woman has a young child holding onto her skirts and the white woman has two white children with her and an older black lady in back. Along the left side are a number of figures sitting down surrounded by flower filled containers. A white older man is looking/talking to the one of the vendors near the central group. An arched entryway is in the center background with an arched arcade to the right with other vendors in front of each pillar. A wagon is visible through the arcade in the upper right of the picture. At bottom is handwritten in ink: "Memorial Day / in the Sixth Street Market".
On back in upper right corner is handwritten in pencil: "656" in a oval and "14 Blk".
