Mrs. Peters Saunders, to "My Dear General" [Wade Hampton] - Sends condolences to Hampton upon the death of his son, Thomas Preston Hampton. Signed "Heros von Borcke" 2 pp., laminated and inserted in an acid-free cover.
Archival History Heros von Borcke served as Capt. and Volunteer Aide-de-Camp to J. E. B. Stuart during May and June 1862. He served as Acting Assistant Adjutant General to Stuart during the Seven Days Battles. Von Borcke also served as Major and Assistant Adjutant and Inspector General to Stuart on July 25, 1862.
