Physical Appearance: The letter is a handwritten copy of the original written by Col. John S. Mosby to Maj. Gen. J. E. B. Stuart, dated February 28, 1863, Fauqueir County, Virginia. Mosby jauntily reports of routing a Federal cavalry outpost near Fairfax, VA of one officer and fifty men, with no losses to his own unit. 1 Lietenant, 3 men killed, 5 captured, number of wounded unknown. Enemy pursued him as far as Middleburg without accomplishing anything. 2 pp.
