1935.076.00002a. August 18, 1899 - Mrs. Geo[rge] E[dward] Pickett [LaSalle Corbell Pickett] at the Savoy Hotel, Washington, D. C., to "My dear little friend" [Mrs. Fannie C. Ryals, 202 Madison St[reet], Tampa, Fl[orid]a] - Mostly concerns the release of her "dear book, 'Pickett and His Men,'" from the publisher on July 17. Signed, "Mrs. Geo. E. Pickett" 3 pp, 2 sheets.
1935.076.00002b. An envelope for the letter described above. A red, George Washington 2-cent stamp is cancelled at the upper right corner. The postmark reads, "Washington / 9-30P / 1899 / D. C." The return address reads, "From, Mrs. Genl. Pickett / Savoy, Washington / D. C." The recipient's address reads, "Mrs. Fannie C. Ryals / 202 Madison St. / Tampa Fla." A small blue-ink, upside-down stamp below the recipient's street address reads, "Not at This Number."
