Physical Appearance: The letter is from Brig. Gen. James H. Trapier to Jones, dated April 24, 1864. Writing from Georgetown, Trapier sends this private letter to "My dear General." Trapier alludes to Jones' predecessor (Beauregard) as having never deemed the site "worth a visit of inspection" and armed it accordingly. Trapier begs to have his artillery requistion filled.
