Physical Appearance: Col. Stapleton Crutchfield wrote this letter to Col. [unknown] on December 25, 1862. The letter gives express authority to get guns from Guiney's Depot and orders that a commissioned officer receive the guns and send a memorandum when assignment completed.

Archival History Stapleton Crutchfield served as Col. and Chief of Artillery to "Stonewall" Jackson, from May 26, 1862. Crutchfield lost a leg at Chancellorsville. He died in action at Sayler's Creek (Sailor's Creek).
