Physical Appearance: This folder of the William Booth Taliaferro Papers contains a "Statement of Troops in and en route to the State of Florida, February 20, 1864" The report consists of two pages and provides the number of effectives for the District of East Florida, Brig[adier] Gen[era]l [Joseph] Finegan Commanding; District [of] Middle Florida, Brig[adier] Gen[era]l [William Montgomery] Gardner [Commanding]; and Troops ordered to Florida from So[uth] Ca[rolina] and Georgia. Troops ordered from South Carolina and Georgia include Colquitt's Brigade, 64th Georgia Vol[unteer]s, 1st Fl[orid]a Batt[alion] Vol[unteer]s, 11th S[outh] C[arolina] Reg[imen]t Vol[unteer]s, 18th S[outh] C[arolina] Reg[imen]t Vol[unteer]s, 32nd Georgia Reg[imen]t Vol[unteer]s, 46th V[irgini]a Reg[imen]t Vol[unteer]s, Chatham L[ight] Art[iller]y, Villipigues L[igh]t Art[iller]y, 4th Reg[imen]t Geo[rgia] Cav[a]l[r]y, and 5th Reg[imen]t Geo[rgia] Cav[a]l[r]y.
