Physical Appearance: May 8, 1863 - W[illia]m T[hompson] Martin at Head Quarters Martin's Cav[alry] Div[ision], Wheeler's Corps, to Major E. S. Burford, A[ssistant] A[djutant] Gen[era]l, McMinnville, [Tennessee] - States that he has assigned Colonel Hagan of the 3rd Alabama Cavalry in command of a brigade composed of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Alabama, and 8th Confederate, as well as Colonel Russell of the 4th Alabama Cavalry in command of separate brigade composed of Russell and Patterson's regiments. Discusses Colonel Crews' movements and number of men on pickets and locations of picket lines. Mentions the Board of Examiners concerning Lieutenant John Ryan of Company M, 1st Alabama and Lieutenant J. W. Ackridge of Company B, 4th Alabama. Signed, "Wm. T.
