Physical Appearance: The telegram (autographed note signed) is from Lee to Maj. Gen. George E. Pickett, dated August 9, 1864. Lee asks Pickett to harass the Union forces at Dutch Gap with artillery from Poague's battery, the Howlett line, and naval gunboats.
