Lee Monument Uniform Depiction Controversy, 1913-1915
Physical Appearance: This group of letters concerns a controversy over the uniform depicted on the Richmond Lee Monument between 1913 and 1915. The letters include - 1) Daniel Smith Gordon to Janet Randolph, August 2, 1913; 2) Wm. Gordon McCabe to Mrs. N. V. (Janet) Randolph, November 4, 1915; 3) G. N. Saussey to Col. W. B. Palmer, December 3, 1915; 4) Daniel Smith Gordon to Mrs. Randolph, December 11, 1915; and 5)Illustration of collar insignia, as per "O. R." All of these items were formerly in MC3, MC-586. Two additional copies of the letter from Mr. McCabe to Mrs. Randolph are also present in the folder.
