Physical Appearance: October 26, 1861 - J[ohn] Bankhead Magruder at Head Quarters Army [of] Peninsula, Ass[istan]t Adj[utan]t Gen[era]l's Office, Yorktown, [Virginia], to John Letcher, Governor of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia - Requests that Major [Edgar Burwell] Montague's battalion of five infantry companies, Major Tomlin's battalion of four companies, and Capt[ain] Waddell's company be combined to form a regiment with Montague promoted to Colonel, Tomlin promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, and Captain Waddell promoted to Major.
