Kind Teacher
I received your kind note this morning containing the desired favor the letter stamps and I hope you will noon afford me an opportunity of paying you the amount due you for them and was glad you are in the land of the living and had not forgotten us pour fellows down south

The old school room is still standing idle waiting for you an d we hope you will soon be back and hearing your voice sounding within its walls once more you cannot imagine how much we miss you as you would soon be coming back behind those ponies and Mr. Hillis the driver the baby still remembers you and wants you to come back as well as we do she still calls Fanny Fanny and you ought to come back for the young men does not what to do without you or you would.

I commineed writing a letter yesterday and when I had it half done mother came along and commeneed writing so I had to stop but I expect you would rather have a letter from mother then from your old scholar John I expect you would like if you could whip him if you dont come back he will be ignorant so it is my wish for you to come back.

Cassy Prigg was at our and said she would rather go to you than to Mr. Cover at Glendale so would all your old scholars that is good encouragement Miss French I guess you will have to come back and take the old school again Sam and Jim has run themselves down Lea says she often thinks of you when evening comes and sends her love to you and her wish is that you will come back George Covert goes to the other school but he dont learn much Thaddy Thompson is till waiting for you to come back and teach.

Mr. Pratts folks were here this evening enquiring about the school I guess you will have to come back and take up school again for all the neighbors are inquiring after you and you must (?) us poor fellows know not what to do without you.

Now if you will come back and be our teacher again Father says he will give most anything to meet your terms for we would rather have you than anyone else.
