Consists of a letter to the Editor promoting William H[enry Fitzhugh] Payne as the candidate to save Virginia from [William] Mahone and the Republicans. The writer of the letter is unidentified. Handwritten at the top of the beginning column, "1889." An enlarged photocopy of the article is in the folder. The original clipping is in an envelope. William H. F. Payne enclosed this clipping in a letter dated March 22, 1889 to his son Winston [MS-970325.4].
