General Robert E. Lee to President Jefferson Davis, May 3, 1863
Physical Appearance: The letter is a photocopy of the original (autographed, signed), dated May 3, 1863. Lee describes to President Davis the successful flank attack at the Battle of Chancellorsville led by Gen. Jackson the day before. Lee also informs Davis of the wounding of Generals Jackson and A. P.
